You are enough

Updated: Jan 10

A letter to the Self that every woman should read

Dearest Self,

The time is here. Time to start taking care of you and I am truly excited for what 2020 has in store.

No longer will I be harsh towards and crass with you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made just as you are and I therefore acknowledge you and your identity in Christ. No longer will I compare you to others, deeming you “not good enough” and breaking your spirit in the process. I know the fear of inadequacy robs you of the truth of who you really are in Him.

I will learn to listen and cherish your ideas, dreams and goals. I will support you in such a way that you will feel motived to take the leap even when you are scared.

I will also hold you to your promises and goals. If needed I will be hard to push you and help you achieve those goals, all the while doing it in love. I will lay you down at God’s feet and ask Him to provide you with the wisdom to handle every situation that life might throw your way. I will ask that He bless you with strength to tackle every obstacle that you may face, knowing that you are more than a conquerer through Christ. I will see you when you are weary and whisper “today you’ve done your best”. I will motivate you to keep your chin up when you feel like crucifying yourself over past mistakes and remind you that you are not defined by them.

I will be excited with you when you want to explore new ventures. I will purge your doubt when you think you’re not enough or not worthy because God gave you everything you need to be for what He called you to be. I will help you look for the lessons in times of failure and I will be praise you in your times of success. And remember, in every situation to look up, focus and search for His kingdom and know:

"His divine power has given us everything we need for a Godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness."

2 Peter 1:3

God is within you, you will not be moved.

Happy New Year.
