A lifestyle session of our pets

Why it is important to take photos of your loyal companions
Those of you who know us, know that we are all about our two dogs. They are really an extended part of our family and to say we love them is a huge understatement. They are two creatures who came into our lives and forever changed us as people with their distinctive personalities! And boy are their personalities big!
Meet Milo. The youngest edition and larger than life itself! Very verbal and straight forward, he won’t hesitate to communicate his feelings, especially when it comes to food and how still we should lie when we watch TV and he wants to take a nap. He’s got the looks and he knows it too. He is super witty and always ready to play with his ball (or a stick, empty plastic bottle, basically anything he can) outside.
Then the brightest dog I have ever met (and owned for that matter) is Lola. Without saying anything, she communicates with head gestures and eye movements what she wants. This dog can smile. Seriously. And whenever she likes something, she will lick her lips and let her one k9 stick out. Always looking for a high vantage point so she can see what is going on around her, you’ll often find her on the top of the back end of the couch.
So you can imagine my excitement when Robyn from Lucky Little contacted me to ask if she can send me a little something to take photos of and I realised that this was for her new brand dedicated to dogs, called Rollick.
It felt like Christmas. And not just for us but for our dogs too! When we saw the hoodies it blew our minds (and theirs too). Milo & Lola were barking with excitement and we couldn’t stop taking photos once they were dressed in their new outfits. What’s even better is that the hoodies are made from the same material as the monogram tops that I ordered from Robyn through Lucky little. So now the whole Van Dalen crew, including the dogs look the same when we are all dressed in our tops and hoodies, making this the coolest accessories for any family session when you include your pets.
We often neglect to take professional photos of our pets. But if you think carefully, many of your memories will comprise of pets you have previously had, as well as those who are still with us. I personally loved that we did a photo session with our pups because we managed to capture their personalities, immortalising them and paying tribute to the huge roll they play in our lives.

A special thank you to Robyn from Rollick for trusting me to take photos of your awesome hoodies! I am such a fan of your work and look forward to see what you have in store for all pet owners in future.
